This Hackathon is a precursor event to the large-scale Street Action we will be hosting in June at a popular London shopping mall. As we want to co-design the Street Action with young people, we’ve set up this Hackathon competition to challenge students to come up with an intervention, and the winning team will (aside from winning £1,000!) go on to work with us to make their idea a reality at the Street Action! As for the specifics, we’ll be asking the Hackathon participants to “design an intervention that takes place in public space (like a shopping mall) and will mobilise citizens to engage with the topic of the food-climate nexus.” We hope that by leaving the question quite broad we’ll receive a range of ideas and solutions from the students.
