The city of Madrid was selected on April 28 to form part of the 100 European cities that will be at the forefront of a transformation process toward safer, healthier, more sustainable and prosperous cities. Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Vitoria, Valladolid and Zaragoza were also selected, which together with the capital will act as centres of experimentation and innovation to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. On November 15, the event ‘Commitment to the climate’ will take place at La Casa Encendida. Mission Madrid’ where different ongoing experiences will be shared by activists, neighbours, artists, educators, technicians, and thinkers… committed to the environmental health of Madrid and the Planet. The objective is to make visible the effort that society, in general, is making to achieve the mission of decarbonizing the city. Food Wave ambassador Elena Sánchez, from the Leonardo Da Vinci Institute in Madrid, spoke about the close relationship between food and climate change.
